I got interested in the creative field back in high school, I was in a class that was all about creative design and was ran as a creative agency for the school, and it was a great experience. I came up with a dream in my mind that I would find a way to make a career in the creative field, and today I am still following that dream. It is always an enjoyable experience to create something that can have an effect on people, to move them to act. Doing work like this is always fun and never feels like actual work, it is fascinating to me that you can make a living at it.
I am a native Floridian and have lived here my entire life, I have played hockey for many years both roller and inline hockey, and I am a major sports fan and I follow sports religiously. You can usually find my brother and I at Lightning and Bucs games supporting the home team, when I am not playing hockey or working on a project.
My reason for entering Artisitk Envy is to learn and grow as a person and as a creative thinker and designer. The entire creative industry thrives on competition. You have to be the best at what you do to get a chance. I want to prove to myself and to the world that I can make this work; I can be a successful creative designer. Life gives you chances at success; I feel this is one of those great chances to find success as a person and to launch my career.

Excellent presentation! Great work. I learned alot about Tampa, even though I lived there some years ago. I agree that what you created could be used as a brochure. It is a nice blend of the historical and modern times. Good Luck!

Way to go Rick. I saw the book on the table at our place and I though it might be your work. Very well done. Very effective (and sharp) use of color to differentiate time line sections. The typefaces are solid as well; a impressively cohesive piece.
Hopefully we’ll get a chance to work together in the future, Rick.

Nice job Rick!
I like the colors and the designs in the pages and who knew Tampa was once called Tanpa? Anyway, good job and good luck in the next meet!

What a great job Rick. You clearly catch the historical influence Havana had on the northeastern Caribbean while showcasing Tampa’s modern, Latin culture. I really want a cigar right now! Great web site as well…I could use some help with my restaurant’s site.

Excellent handling of the assignment! What you created would work great as a brochure for the city of Tampa or as a website. Was that what you had in mind and could you convert what you did to a brochure or website for Tampa? I like that you took a practica/functional interpretation of the assignment, yet creative as well. Loved the color tones in the different panels - gave it an “old timey” historical look. Very cool.

Your presentation was great man. Next time explain more of why you designed it the way you did instead of what is designed and I think the judges will better understand your concept and you will come out with flying colors! Great progress i hope to see you next competition
