My name is Keith Burnson. I was born in Clearwater, Florida on May 11, 1981. That’s right I am a May baby. I have always loved playing and listening to music since I was young. I also grew up skateboarding and surfing, you may think; surfing in Florida, there’s no waves, but there is, and it gets real good!
I went to Largo High school where I really started to fall in love with music more and ended up playing in bands and thought this was going to be my calling. A couple years ago I was recording an album with some friends and it came time to get some Graphic Design stuff done for the album cover, CD and website, and the artist was not returning my calls and giving us a hard time, so I decided I will use some of the Adobe programs and figure it out for myself. In doing this I fell in love with art and graphics and realized that this is what I want to do for a living.
I took the step and signed up to get my Bachelor Degree at IADT and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve realized that Graphic Design is not something I do it’s something I love.
I heard of the competition through a teacher/mentor of mine and decided that this is my opportunity and I need to go after my dreams. I expect to learn a lot from this competition not only about my graphics but also about my peers and myself. I am hoping to share my designs with people and let them experience my work and my ability to help out my future in Graphic Design.

Keith, I loved the feel of your “cigar” piece - the colors, contrast, and variety of styles made a nice composition. I also liked the color combinations in your other works. I just wish your final assignment would have been more of a variation from the graffiti style that you used in previous pieces. You’ve got great talent for creating your finished look … and I imagine you will expand your perspective with more exposure and experiences. Nice work. I’m sure you’ll continue to make a valuable contribution to the art world.

Keith,
I thinkyour graphic work has transitioned from “a talent for” to
“a Gift in”. Your demonstrated ability to communicate through color, and design not only works well in different media presentations but also spans generations. Take it from a guy in his 60’s, your work is awesome. Go for it Bro…!
