Jovani Coleman

My name is Jovani Coleman. I was born December 1st, 1985 in Takoma Park, Maryland. I am a gymnast and I started when I was 3 years old. I have traveled to many places in the world due to gymnastics and have had the pleasure of meeting many people. I did train for the Olympics but I fractured three of my vertebrae and was told that I wouldn’t walk again, but I didn’t let that stop me. At the age of eight, I discovered that I had another passion, which is Fashion! I started hand sewing at five, and machine sewing at eight. I always got in trouble by my mom for ripping up clothes to make them into my own style. I knew from then on, that fashion was what I wanted to do.

I am 22 years young and I am pursuing my degree at The International Academy of Design and Technology. Once I finish college in 2009, I plan to take the skills I’ve learned and produce my own clothing line for athletes. As a former gymnast, finding clothes to wear and clothes that fit the right way is close to impossible. My mission that I plan to accomplish is to produce an athletic line of everyday wear as well as formal wear. I am also very interested in journalism as well. In the near future I would love to start a sports and fashion magazine for women and men.

The best statement I’ve ever been told was by my Dad. He always told me that the decisions you make effect the rest of your future. I believe that statement whole-heartily, so I am taking advantage of my skills I’ve learned, my talent, and determination to make the best out of myself and to make my family proud.

I entered this competition to gain more knowledge, and to get as much constructive criticism by professionals as I can. I feel that after I broke my back, I overcame the ultimate challenge so now Artistik Envy is the next challenge! I’m so excited to see what is in store for the competition!

    Hey Babygirl

I’m so proud of you and you should be proud of yourself. I love your design, and yes I was an Arthur Ash fan in the 70’s also.

I also saw your Havanah Shoot very nice!

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
