Brian Wilson

My name is R. Brian Wilson. I am a computer animator with technical, engineering and artistic background as a character animator, primary setup artist and CG artist at Sealund & Associates. I was a draftsman at HSA Engineering, where I was responsible for technical setup, finalizing projects and training new associates. I am a 9 year acting veteran at Busch Gardens’ annual Howl-O-Scream event. A former manager of Mannequin Murals, where I was responsible for designing and painting murals as well as managing 6 other artists. My long-term goal is to be an animation lead on a major motion picture. Short-term, my goal is to improve my demo reel and do whatever it takes to get hired full time into an animation company.

I am critical and analytical, observant, imaginative, artistic, hard on deadlines, a have an artistic, technical and theatrical background.

On a personal level, I’m pretty laid back and am constantly on the move. Right now, I’m juggling three jobs as well as this competition on top of trying to finish up an animated short for the festival season. But I hope there’s never a moment in my life where I can’t step back, take a breath and have a good laugh. I love rollerblading, playing volleyball, jogging (I used to be on the USF track team), and above all coming up with new projects to work on. My projects are my passion, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’d like to see some of my work, head on over to my website at www.RBWilson.com.

Wish me luck. ;-)

Brian, your latest piece of art is impressive. Keep up the excellent work!

  3. Hannahgarrett Says:

Your work is very unique. The reflection of the street sign was an unusual touch which really brought my attention to the small details. The black and white “look” adds an air of depression which seemed to be your intention from watching the video. When I saw the saw the title “Urban Funk”, I expected something from the 1970’s musical era and your display of funk was that monotonous day to day aggravation many of us experience going thru life. Very creative thinking on your part Brian and congratulations on a well done presentation. I am looking forward to seeing your next presentation. Good Luck.

What an interesting concept! Looking forward to your artwork next week. I like how you have a different perspective and different medium weekly. Some of the other artists just seem to repeat the same old thing with little variety each week. Your’s are always different. Keep up the good work.

Good luck Brian. Your pencil drawing really reflects “Urban Funk”. I remember the days of endless traffic and feeling like I was on a treadmill getting nowhere driving around in Tampa and other big cities. Good concept.

I love this week’s picture. I wasn’t sure what the contestants would create with the theme, Urban Funk. You always find something unique and different. The wood mannequin was a good choice to use. I really like it. Each week I look forward to your artwork because it’s always interesting to see what media you will use to convey the topic. You are very talented!
